LoadingWhat changed?
See how institutional ownership of a company changes from one disclosure period to the next.
Stake Trace reconstructs changes across mutual-fund portfolios to identify which institutions increased, reduced, entered or exited a position.
Live example
The diagram is the ownership flow already used in Stake Trace. It opens on a covered stock and the latest comparable periods.
HDFCBANK: 168 increases, 109 reductions, 21 entries, 149 exits between 2026-07 and 2026-08.
Panel: 168 increases, 109 reductions, 21 new positions, 149 exits. The diagram shows the largest movers in each group. Ribbon width is the change in shares, not a transfer between funds.

Ribbon width is the change in shares held, not the size of the position. The diagram does not imply shares moved between funds.
Why we built it
A periodic disclosure is a snapshot: which schemes held a stock, and how many shares, at one month-end. Reading two snapshots by hand makes a long-held position look like news, and makes it easy to miss a fund that left while another arrived.
Ownership Shift compares the filings and classifies each scheme. Adjacent periods can be named as one change. A longer window keeps the path of intermediate disclosures separate from the start and end quantities, so an endpoint difference is not treated as a single event.
The aggregate share-count change is then attributed to the schemes and fund houses that produced it. The reading describes the filings. It is not a recommendation.

MCP

Analyze how mutual-fund holdings in a stock changed between disclosure periods. Can analyze aggregate mutual-fund activity, a specific mutual fund's position, or a selected set of funds. Returns share-count changes, increases/reductions, entries/exits with confidence, participation changes, major drivers, corporate-action adjustments, and data-quality limitations. For two consecutive periods the comparison names a single action. For a longer window it reconstructs every intermediate disclosure and returns the sequence of events in `path`, while `endpoint` reports only the start and end quantities: a window that begins absent and ends held is not necessarily an entry. Holder scope: omit both `fund` and `funds` for all mutual funds; send `fund` for one scheme; send `funds` for a selected set of schemes, read as one combined panel (`fund_mode` aggregate, the default) or one result per scheme (`fund_mode` individual). `holder_scope` in the response states which was used; results for selected schemes never describe the whole mutual-fund industry.
